Current Revolution: Nation in Transition

July 27, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

“The shift to clean energy and electric vehicles is already happening-and it’s happening faster than anyone expected. Now our task is to manage the transition to ensure it’s both just and sustainable.”

– Paul Hirt, Emeritus Professor of Environmental History and Sustainability, Arizona State University

E2 invites you to a national webinar featuring the American Resilience Project’s latest work, Current Revolution: Nation in Transition, how the transition to renewable energy is both a blessing and a curse for communities living under the weight of environmental and health impacts of a coal fired power plant that provides the best jobs in the district.

The 30-minute film documents the closing of the Navajo Generating Station and examines how we, as a nation, can transition from fossil fuels to clean energy in a way that builds resilience and new opportunities for the communities and workers affected by the energy transition.

During the webinar discussion, we will highlight the importance of developing clean energy jobs and how the American Jobs Plan can support the Navajo nation, Arizona, and rural America.

E2 Co-founder Nicole Lederer will moderate a discussion with Representative O’Halleran (AZ-1), filmmaker Roger Sorkin, and Suzanne Singer & Edward Dee, clean energy leaders in the Navajo community.

Upon registering for the webinar you will receive a link to view the film in advance (we will not show the full movie in the webinar).

This webinar will be simultaneously translated into Spanish, for those who choose.
